-Council chairman, leaders, others laud lawmaker’s representation

In commemoration of the 45th anniversary of Luwasa Secondary School, Ijede, Hon. (Dr.) Aro Moshood Abiodun (AMA), member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Ikorodu Constituency II, has flagged off the construction of a block of 18-classrooms at the school.
He performed the foundation laying ceremony at the school premises on Friday, with the Executive Chairman, Ijede LCDA Hon. Motunrayo Gbadebo – Alogba, former two terms Chairman, Ijede LCDA and two terms representative, Ikorodu Constituency II, Hon. Saheed Adefarasi Hassan, representative of Luwasa Old Students’ Association, Mr Moshood Tijani, Principal of the school, Mrs Idowu Alozie and others in attendance.

Hon. Aro Moshood, who was a former student of the school, speaking at the event, explained that the idea of the two – storey structure of 18 classrooms, 10 toilets and a staff room, was conceived to mark the 45th anniversary of the school with a landmark project. The building, when completed, will be well equipped and furnished.
“In February or March, while I was talking with the President of Luwasa Old Students’ Association, he said that the school will be 45 years old this year. So, I thought that this is where God has shown me mercy. I actually finished from here. I was now wondering what I can use to mark the 45th anniversary of the school”.
He explained how he appealed to the Governor of Lagos State, Commissioners and the Chairman, School Rehabilitation Project, and how the project eventually got approval.

Hon. Aro Moshood also assured the school staff, representative of the old students’ association and leader in Ijede LCDA, that another structure in the school will be rehabilitated, while he asked for support for the contractors and workers.
Ijede LCDA Chairman, Hon. Gbadebo Alogba, in her remarks, lauded Hon. Aro for his impactful representation which she said is being felt by his constituents.
The council chairman, who thanked the political, traditional and community leaders for their support for the political office holders, urged them to sustain it for the development that Ijede is witnessing to continue.
She called for support and cooperation for the lawmaker, to enable him continue to do more and be successful.

Hon. Hassan also thanked AMA for his efforts in modernizing Luwasa Secondary School and his impacts on education generally.
The Secretary of Luwasa Old Students’ Association, Mr Moshood Tijani, who revealed that the lawmaker is the Chairman of the school 45th anniversary planning committee, thanked him for his efforts in ensuring that the milestone celebration will be celebrated with landmark projects.
He also announced that the anniversary celebration starts on November 20th to 23rd this year.
In recognition of Hon. Aro’s contributions, the Community Development Association (CDA) of Horizon Estate presented him with a framed portrait drawing as a token of appreciation for his dedication to community service and education development.

The ceremony ended with a guided tour of the project site and a photo session, symbolizing yet another milestone in Hon. Aro’s continuous effort to promote education and community development.
